My 04 6.0 might have some tune on it?
I have a 2004 super duty with the 6.0 Mods include cold air intake, 4 inch turbo back, egr delete. thats it! (banjos not installed yet) I had my turbo cleaned and couldnt believe the way that thing ran after. It became crazy fast just like that. It would bellow black smoke when i got on it. Mechanic told me it pulled 30 psi boost. He said it was the fastest spooling truck he has seen so far. I am the second owner of the truck and have no idea if any sort of tune is left on it. I thought not, but the truck runs like a raped ape. I think it might be due to the older strategy on it. I am in the process of seeing which one i have. I just bought an SCT and plan on loading Matts SRL tune on it. Should i be concerned about any tune left on it. Should i have it reflashed to latest strategy before i load matts tune. I dont want any conflicts in the tuning.
My understanding is that it shouldnt matter if there is any tune on it because the SCT will overwrite the tune, if any left on it with the new tune. Is this correct? |

I think SCT can look at the program you take off and tell you if it is stock and fix it if it is not.

Some tuners leave a footprint behind, meaning that when the prior owner returned it back to stock the tuner DID NOT return the entire file back to stock. This may cause issues when you load up the SCT. It is recommended that you get the truck reflashed, to be sure the truck is back to 100% stock.
