I'm trying to figureout if I have a bum FICM as my results today have been the polar opposite to the reviews I've read. I just installed my 58V Swamps FICM w/PHP mild performance tune and my driving results over the last 60 miles have been not particularly positive. My truck is soft down low, and the throttle response isn't as snappy as the old original program. It's quite noticeable. I can't comment on cold starting or mileage yet, warm starts are same as the old FICM. The engine does sound a bit different however. I'm feeling kinda bummed after reading all the positive reviews on a tuned 58v FICM.

Something has to be wrong. I installed a 58v ficm in my 6.0 with no tune and I could tell a difference so you should definitely be able to tell a difference.

yea.... something is wrong.
What other modifications do you have? |

I saw a huge difference installing swamps 58v ficm at least in cold weather starting, it will actually start at 26 degrees without being plugged in and only one good battery. Motor seems a little snappier to.

PHP Gryphon and a 5" turbo back, oh and 2 bottles of Rev-X in my oil.

Did you add both mods at the same time, or were you running the PHP tune prior to installing the upgraded FICM?

Prior. The only other thing I did was change my coolant filter.
The good news is cold starts are much improved! I put another 100 miles on it just now and the mileage seems to be up just a touch, but I'll calculate the next few tanks and compare. |

Was the FICM you sent in already tuned by PHP? Did you get the same FICM back?
