Exclamation wasnt what i expected

Well I dropped my 06 F350 off at the dealership first thing in the morning this past monday. I took it there for lack of heat unless I was on the throttle and really bad start up, but it was fine after warming up. Talked to the service advisor he said it may take a few days and promised he would keep in contact with me, the handed me the keys to my 2wd extended cab ranger loner, Which I guess is better than a focus lol. And I went on my way. This morning coming home from another midnight shift I decided to call them since I haven't heard from them. First words out of his mouth is we haven't started on repairs yet we are waiting on ford to approve the work. Then tells me im getting headgaskets and my FICM is bad and is only getting 29 volts.

Ok so not how I expected to head into my weekend but non the less after I calmed down I drove over to talk with my friend who is the diesel shop forman. After talking he wants to put head studs in for me and was tryn to talk me into buying an egr delete set up. So im gonna have to pay for the FICM the studs and maybe the egr delete but no labor. So now I need your advice I know I want! ARP studs but anyone have any advice on who can get me the best price and fast shipping? And any advice on parts would be greatly appreciated.

Brown's diesel for the studs. Why do you have to pay for the FICM? Are you out of warranty?

If the head gaskets are gone are they rebuilding the oil cooler since that's what usually takes the head gaskets out? What about the egr cooler?

Either you left out some important information here or this isn't adding up right.

Im paying for the ficm. Everything else is all under warranty. Didn't really go into a parts list with him. They were getting closed up for the weekend. Will find out more on monday. My warranty is the 200,000 mile extended warranty that ford started offering for the powerstrokes

Let them do all the free work and replace all the free stuff. Take your FICM home and try the resoldering (worth a shot because it is free to try).
Make sure, like PGreen said, to check on the oil cooler, stc fitting, etc...

That's my intent, but im not that much of a solderer. I don't want to mess anything up. Kinda excited tho to get the arp headstuds. I hear so many horror stories with the head gaskets on these 6.0's. Almost feel a little confident. Just ordered the studs. Will have them monday morning

Get your FICM from innovative diesel. I got the 58V one and my truck runs so much better with it.

The FICM should be covered under warranty just like everything else.
