Steering whine with 6-inch lift and 37's

there's been a little whine when turning the wheels at a low engine speed from time to time, now it is doing it all the time every time.. low speed, high speed whevever....

power steering fluid is full, nothing leaking around the pitman arm area (a friend told me to look at the top of there) it doesnt sound as deep of a whine as when the power steering is empty... any ideas ? steering box need to be replaced ? does it make these noises ???

Thanks guys!

new ball joints

At 58000 miles I had whine in my steering. I was convince it was in my power steering pump until one day I let my truck roll down the driveway with the engine off and it made the same noise. Took it in to the dealer and they replace the ball joints.

thanks for the reply... i thought to shut the engine off while rolling to check for the sound... but never did because the idea of stopping an 8,000 lb truck with no brakes didnt sound too good to me.
