school me on a sct xcal2

ok guys i found what i think is a good deal its a used xcal 2 $150 has 3 toons on it but i know i cant use them. what all do i need to know about a xcal2. like do i need to seend it in for tunes to be loaded. or can i just get them off the net? or is it just too out dated to even bother with?

It is still usable as long as it is not VIN Locked. Plug it into your truck and read your strategy. Write it down and call a custom tuner (eric @ innovative diesel, Matt @ gearhead both seem to be the favorite). Order your tunes and they will email them to you. Hook your SCT up to the computer and with the SCT software (available from sctflash.com) you can load your tunes.

it isnt vin locked now does the xcal2 have so many unlocks like the xcal3 . i forgot to ask about that.
