The muffler is more restrictive than the cat if you can only chose one delete pipe.

Yeah I only want to remove one. I don't want my truck loud. And don't have the money for full exhaust

first i had just the muffler deleted with dual exhaust. it had a nice throaty sound, just not alot of turbo whistle. if you just delete the cat, you wont notice that much of a difference besides a little stinkier exhaust. if your gonna do one, do the muffler, but if ya can live with more turbo whistle go with both deletes, it isnt too much louder than just deleting the muffler. but the sound will be aweome either way

I went to a local muffler shop and they cut in front of the cat and cut behind muffler. They replaced it with a 3 1/2 straight pipe. (stock size) It sounds good. A little loud when you really get on it. I think it would sound better if it had the factory tip still on there. The previous owner cut the stock tip off and replaced it with an echo tip. Someday I plan on getting a 4" or 5" turbo back exhaust.
BTW I really like your truck! Looks like mine.

That is exactly why I did hte cat and muffler delete pipes. The EGT difference between the delet pipes and a 4" is maybe at the most 50* for trucks under 470HP, sound and price for the exhaust.

I purchased an exhaust tip from o'reilly auto parts that has 2 layers of metal and packing in between, the inner layer has perforations. This surprisingly helped with sound control. It was about $30-$40.
