REV-X vs. Hot Shot's Secret

I've been reading a lot on the forum about how great REV-X is, so I started looking around online for a comparison test with Hot Shot's Secret since they both claim to cure stiction related issues in the powerstroke injectors.

REV-X is manufactured by Lubrication Specialties, Inc., a company in Grand Rapids, MI with a President & CEO by the name of Dan Wilson.

Hot Shot's Secret is manufactured by Lubrication Specialties, Inc., a company in Mt. Gilead, OH with a President by the name of Chris Gabrelcik.

I see in July 26th, 2010 a thread about Hot Shot's Secret was started by DanTech Offroad called "Hot Shot's Secret Oil additive".

Both products claim to make the stiction problem better, but I don't really know what either product is made of. Both are rather pricey, I'm curious if a good synthetic oil such as Redline or Amsoil would produce the same results. Are there any comparisons for either of these products?

Rev X has a near 100% success rate as far as curing stiction issues.

Hot Shots secret almost never works.

Does anyone know what either is made of?? Hot Shot's says on the bottle it's 100% pure additive, but it doesn't say what.

REV-X seems like a thicker additive similar to another diesel product I found called Motorkote.

I guess my concerns are can or could they cause damage to the motor since we don't really know what they're made of.

At least one or two member sent in oil sample that had a few thousand miles with the REV X added. I wonder if the oil testing results are back yet.

I would like to see the results too. The Rev-x looks like it coats the internals and the hot shot looks like it's more of a cleaner. Hopefully someone can post any results from their oil test.

My oil is at the labs now waiting for results. It is Amsoil 5w40 with 2 bottles of Rev-X and about 7.5k on it. I'll be posting the results as soon as I get them back.
