What is the benefit of an '03 turbo on '06

I have seen on here that some people have installed '03 turbos on newer model trucks. Can anyone tell me what the benefit would be?

Some say they makea little more boost, maybe a flow a tad bit better, and a tad bit lower EGT's, but most people just get them for the incredibly loud whistle. Here's a video of mine with a 4" MBRP straight pipe exhaust, to give you a taste of what they're like.

I'm having one built right now for my '05 , shop tells me they are better as far as having a 360* bearing surface and thrust ring ?? or something like that and are a better design , it was modified /changed somewhat in '04 on out...
may not be factual but that is what I was told ?
yes they whistle more also

Yeah man, I love mine. And with the EGR delete it's actually a little louder.

But my truck is known at my school as "The Airplane."

trust me if u dont have the money to do a expenseve turbo up grade if u can find a 03 you want regret it i love mine it turns head

Is the mounting plate the same or do I need to find that also?

The turbo pedestal is different, but I've heard that some people just mount them on their stock pedestals.
