What's the difference?

Can anybody tell me what is the difference between a SCT X3 and a SCT Xcal2? Also what is the cost to get a vin unlocked off of a tuner? Any help is appreciated, thanks

$150 to unlock it and you have to send it to SCT to do it.

yah hes correct.. 150 to get it unlocked plus whatever it costs you in shipping to get it there... so your prob looking at about 160 bucks

as far as programming the truck? no they both get the job done. Just more options on the X3 that most will never use, mine sits under my backseat unless i want to switch tunes. you can find an x2 cheaper since theyre older

the x2 does not have to go to sct to be unlocked. it can be unlocked cheaper than what sct charges. the x3 i dont know of anyone that can unlock them. the x3 is better for datalogging. as other users have said though you will likely never use it other than to flash to stock or a different tune so it dosent really matter. just make sure you have unlocks and can get it unlocked

hmmm.....ok well like you all said I prolly wont use the data logging and what not I just want some tunes so maybe I will look into a X2
