Actual Gauges or Monitor???
I am looking at either getting gauges or a monitoring system such as the banks IQ, SCT TSX, EDGE CTS, etc. I really am only interested in using one of these units as a display since I really want to stick with a SCT tuner for custom tuning. I was thinking the touch screen xtreme from SCT but Matt said he would just get gauges when I asked him about his tunes working with that unit. However, I hate the look of gauges in my truck but need reliable parameter feedback. So I thought I would ask on hear to see what people thought. Should I get a monitoring system or gauges. If gauges, which ones? i know the top three/four are EGT, boost, trans, and fuel pressure; but do I need transmission temperature since I have the factory gauge? Do I need to monitor other parameters as well? I have done a bullet proof diesel oil cooler delete so I am thinking that I need to monitor oil temperatures as well. Anyways I am trying to see what people think. thanks for the input.

Has anyone tried the SCT touch screen xtreme? I am just curious how people are liking it. I haven't seen any reviews or anything.

On the Insight, since the readings are from the OBD port, I assume that the readings are from the factory sensors. With respect to the transmission temperature, how accurate would that be?

They are all very accurate and since you are monitoring the same sensors as the PCM if there is a sensor problem you know it. If you have stand alone gauges reading their own sensors you still have no idea what the computer is seeing. So your gauges could tell you everything is fine but have an oem sensor acting up causing the truck to run like crap and not know. Edge Insight is solution.

I use the edge for Tranny, EOT and ECT and I have analog Boost, EGT and Fuel.
