opinions on edge or bully dog.

I just bought my first diesel about 3 weeks ago. 03 f350 cc lb. I want to put a chip in it for better performance and mileage. I want to know what people like the most between the edge or bully dog. just those 2, I only want something that I can monitor everything and adjust on the fly. Please dont respond if you own anything other than a 6.0, because every tuner works differently on different trucks. lets keep this to just the 2 types of tuners, thank you and lets hear every ones opinion.

Just in case he misses it bigstroker....u may want to PM Rodslinger on here.....he has an 05 6.0 ordered a Bully Dog, and last i heard he was expecting to recieve it today and get it installed, and Rod is more than happy to give out what he thinks about things hes tried, although remember that the 04.5 and newer will make more boost than yours........and not to harp or anything....but wichever programmer you get.....make sure to set your boost limit on it so as not to take out your headgaskets ........Marc

Hey welcome dadsbigstroker!
Marc is right I just got my Bully Dog in today. Of course I HAD to leave work a little early.
It's the Triple Dog with the Outlook monitor (THANKS DPP!!!!). I updated it with the latest tune and was a bit disappointed that they only have the "Crazy Larry" program for the Dodge and GM but I really only wanted it just to try out anyway, so it's no big deal. Anyway, the install was like a cake walk and I only took it out for just a second. I'd had a beer or two and I don't like mixing my rig+tuner+my left foot+beer = not gonna happen.....did I mention this things gives you your 1/4 mile times too??? I ran a 44.93!!!!!!

Oh that was in my neighborhood doing the speed limit.

I will tell you that it is SWEET and I won't lie I did go out to the rice fields and play for a sec. I WAS running the Predator and although I don't think it has QUITE the get up and go it's darn close. I'll give you a better run down tomorrow afternoon..................there is a ton I could talk about but I've gotta run. I'll respond again tomorrow with a better update but up till this point the Bully Dog with the ability to change settings on the fly is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and again WELCOME to Powerstroke.org!

Another satisfied customer. Thats what I like to here.

dadsbigstroker: We carry every brand of power adders and Bullydog and Edge have the least problems. The attitude or Outlook monitors both work great and have all kinds of fancy gadgets. You will be happy with either brand.

_good luck...its a tuff decision. Any questions feel free to call.

VERY satisfied Pat, thanks!

It was too sweet this morning when I moved over at a light to go around a guy doing 10 UNDER the speed limit only to have the light change and him want to now do 20 OVER the speed limit - I had it in stock and just bumped the joystick up twice to performance and was gone. I got around him and moved over in front of him. Apparently he didn't get the hint the FIRST time so he moved over to get beside me at the next light........yawn........ok lets have fun - I bumped the joystick up to extreme, locked in 4x4 and well when the light turned green let just say I felt REALLY bad for him. He took his medicine and got behind me at the next light. I bumped her back down to stock and went on my merry way. It's GREAT having the on the fly capability. I loved my Predator but the functionality of the BD is WAY better.

See that is what I need, but my wife would kill me for buying another toy. I would love to have the versatility. Dont get me wrong I love my custom SCT, but I shouldnt always have that kind of power! I need to be able to knock it down some so I can stay out of trouble. Im sure my tires would appreciate it also.

LUCKILY I got a big raise so my wife let me pick one up. Plus I guess I'll sell my Predator now.
Hey Pat do you have any inside scoop on when, or IF, they will have the Crazy Larry program for the Ford?
Not trying to hijack your thread dadsbigstroker - but if we keep bumping it like this maybe we can get someone with the Edge to give us their opinion on it.

Hey Alan from what i've heard from friends at 4 wheel parts and other places that there won't be a crazy larry program for the fords. But, they work at 4wp and not bully dog, so you never know! OH, crap....I'm not allowed to reply to this thread because I don't own a 6.0.

There reasoning at our big show in February was the 6.0L cant handle that kind of power. If some guy that has never owned a diesel before buys it and sends his heads thru the hood it would really suck. I can get some of the best custom tunes in the country from Innovative Diesel. You wanted adjustability on the fly and I think you picked a great combination.
