Differences between Edge Insight (CS, CTS) & older 83400 model
I'm looking at getting an Edge insight monitor and would like to know what advantages there are to the newer versions vs the older 83400 model?
I see the 83400 selling for $299 with an EGT probe. The CS for $299 without a probe and the CTS for $399 without a probe. What would be the better deal if I'm not too concerened with a colored screen? Also are there better temp probes than others? |

Thanks 2 Stroker, I was thinking that the 83400 is all I really need but wanted to know if there were any other advantages. It looks like the screen is a little bigger on the 83400 vs the newer CS version but the CTS would be easily visible. I just have so much I need to do to this truck right now so a couple hundered saved here will help.
Looking at your additions I see the updated fuel reg. kit, what's the deal with this, is that something that needs to be done for reliability even with stock injectors and pump? I'm about already overwhelmed with the thoughts of head studs, dummy plugs, STC fitting, turbo cleaning, oil cooler, EGR delete, and coolant filter just to get the truck reliable. By the way anything else I missed in that list as I plan on ordering parts for these upgrades soon. |

I was mistaken on that, I went back and looked and all that pictured the probe but in small writing said "probe not included" LOL. I did find the unit itself for $232.25 on ebay and ordered it last night.
I never could find whether there were any different features between the 83400 and CS version other than color but I just thought the older version would look a little better mounted on the dash. I'm just interested in accurate readings and not looking a real flashy bright display. |
