AFE Cold Air Intake for 6.0 Worth It or Not?
I am thinking about installing an AFE cold air intake on my 2006 6.0. Any of you out there notice any fuel mileage gains? I have been reading on here that an aftermarket cold air intake could throw codes, is this a common problem for the 6.0? Which AFE intake would you recommend? Any other Pros and Cons I'm not thinking of?

Stick with what you have good to 500HP spend your $$$$ on other things like a fuel pressure gauge and gauges they are a must.
2 stroker |

2 stroker is right. The oem air filter is ok to 500 hp. I also agree that gauges are way more important if you don't have them already.
That said I still run an Airaid. I love the way it sounds with the zoodad mod, but there are no performance gains that are noticeable to the SOTP meter. |

I guess that's two for two. That aside does the AFE filter out dirt better than the Ford OEM filter i.e. cleaner air to the turbo?

No.
NO aftermarket CAI will filter better than the stock intake/filter |

Stick with stock untill you get injectors or turbo. But still would like to get an aftermarket intake then get the S&B. This filters the most dirt out of the non OEM filters

ive got mine simply for the fact that its alot easier to clean/change the filter then the stocker

I have the AFE stage II with pro gaurd 7 filter and love it. I dont do any serious mudding or high dust or sand driving and like the way the filter works. The truck had a K/N when bought the truck and do not like their set up so that was main reason why I changed out. But from what I have read and been told your stock set up on these trucks works very well. So more of a personal pref for me.

I also have the AFE stage II with the pre guard 7 and i have to agree with Power2336s. Its more of a personal preference, but i havent had any problems and its easy to maintain.
