programer or chip
hey guys i am new to this site and really new to desiels i just bought my first one 2004 f 350 dullay 6.0. i wana chip or program it i am looking at the sct xcal 3 or the edge platnum with attitude wondering what one would be better i tow a lot and want something i can watch my egt and trans tepm the sct dont do that does it.

SCT for tuning and something like an Edge insight for gauges. You don't want the edge tuning and you DON"T want shift on the fly because it's murder on the transmission (yes I know the evo isn't sof).

is the edge platnum bad for the truck. and i aint really worried about shifting on the fly the chip would stay on level one or two 99 percent the time. i aint looking to build a race tuck i just want a lil extra juice and mpgs and the super power every once in a while. i am really leaning towrds the edge jsut cuz it come with a monitor system with it. let me know if that adumb idea

Welcome to the org. But most people on here like custom tunes, they think its better on the truck.

Ok... The simplest answer is just get the SCT Xcal3 with custom tunes. By it from Innovative diesel, Gearhead, or what ever your choice in tuners. I run innovative tunes but have heard great things about Gearhead. You will also need a set of gauges. Like mentioned before the edge insight is a decent choice for an all in one gauge package.
The edge will not be as good of a product on your truck as the SCT. Don't trust the advertising, trust what you read from people with real world experiences. |

if you absolutely need the gauges and tuner in one, there always is the livewire, its a little bulky but gets the job done. i used canned tunes up until 2 weeks ago and custom tunes are what really makes your truck move. i'd stay away from edge. everyone on here has had GREAT experiences with sct and 6.0's.

Anyone use the custom tunes from Tony wildman on the 6.0 I have on the 7.3 worked good but I never see his name mentioned on the 6.0
