hi everyone new to the site, have questions on some parts. plz help

so i just bought an 06 f250 ext cab short bed with 6.0 automatic trans basically my dream truck, i been doing some lurking trying to figure out what chip to go with and i have it narrowed down to an sct livewire or a bully dog pmt, i found a website that i can get an egr delete kit sct livewire chip and dash mount with an egt probe for a thousand bucks before shipping, is this a good place to start with a stock truck or? its already got a coolant filter kit, new trans, new injectors, and the terribibble ford coolant changed out, any insite would be greatly appreaciated. thank you all and great site!

how many miles?
What is the previous mantinence like?
How will your truck be used?
Prevous work done?

Your idea is a great place to start.

Go with the sct and custom tuning from Innovative diesel. The tuning will be a top recomendation.

If you want to buy an egr delete kit that will work. I would rather not spend the money and weld a block plate on the up-pipe side tube that feeds the egr cooler and unplugg the egr vavle. This will have the same effect as the delete kit.

That is very good that it has a coolant filter, new trans and new (all 8?) injectors. Fresh start.

If it does not have ARP stud, this is one of the top modifications. EGR and head studs are the 2 top modifications. you can do both yourself. There is endless help for both

If you're going to put a programmer on it- Do the exhaust, egr delete, check the oil cooler, and put a head stud kit in if it hasn't been done yet. You'll thank yourself later. As for the programmer itself, you get what you pay for most of the time.

I agree, either deleting the muffler and cat, or getting a system will drop the exhaust temps dramatically

here is the cheapest I have found for ARP studs.
6.0L Powerstroke Stud Kit

cat delte pipe
03-07+ Ford 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel Cat Delete Pipe

Mufler delete pipe
Ford 6L Powerstroke Diesel Stock Muffler Delete Pipe

$255 for a 4" turbo back with out a muffler. With a muffler it is $290.
