egr delete

im about to delete my egr so i ordered a sinister egr delete kit. i removed my egr valve prior to ordering the delete kit and the valve was gummed up with soot. would it be in my best interest to go on and have the intake cleaned while im deleting the egr??? thanks

Not knowing anything about your truck in regards to year and mileage, I will give you this general answer. It wouldnt hurt to have it cleaned. I would also take a close look at your oil cooler while you have it opened up that far. I recommend get rid of the Gold crap and switching to a good ELC if you havent already.

Pull out your Air Temp sensor and see how it looks. If its all gumed up, your intake has the same amount in it.
