Edge J/A trans tuning question

I just added the Edge J/A Platinum to my '05. It has trans tuning options that allow you to firm up the shifts a bit. My question is: Would there be any reasons NOT to run the shifts firm all the time? Right now its set for the shifts to be firm ONLY on 75% or more throttle.
Got another for ya too! I'm a former '05 Duramax owner and I had the Edge J/A on it and on many levels it would smoke. On the higher levels it would black out the highway. Well, with it on the 6.0 there is ZERO smoke! Absolutely none no matter what setting or level. Is there a certain reason for this?

The best advice I can give you is sell the edge and get an SCT with custom tunes. The egde is like a time bomb for the 6.0
