EGR delete-clean intake?

Gonna do EGR delete and according to directions you don't completely take intake off, just lift passenger side. I have been told in a different thread that the gaskets are reusable so this is fine. Since I haven't done this before should I go ahead and take the intake off and clean it out? Do I have to remove anything else to get it out? I'm following the directions with the sinister delete kit. If it's as simple as going ahead and taking the driver's side intake bolts all the way out instead of just loosening them, then I don't see why you wouldn't take it out and clean it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Im curious about this also. When i do my egr delete i was thinking about completely removing my intake manifold and getting it cleaned. I dont see why it wouldnt be that simple, but im not sure. Hopefully someone with more knowledge about this will let us know.

Good idea to take it off and have a machine shop tank it to clean all the soot out that the EGR let in.

To do an egr delete, you just need to purchase a delete kit from someone. A lot of the vendors sell them. A couple of the favorites on the forum seem to be the rcd kit or the sinister kit. As far as cleaning the intake manifold you just take it to a machine shop and have it hot tanked while it is off the truck.

OK do I have to take anything else off that I wouldn't have to if I wasn't gonna completely remove it? And does the gaskets being reusable sound up to snuff to everyone?

They are reusable but I'd replace it anyway. You don't want to do this again if it does leak on you. The new gasket is a lot cheaper than the rework involved to replace it later.

OK but on the matter of getting the intake all the way off, all I have to do is just take the driver side bolts out instead of just loosening them per the instructions? Right?
