not sure what to do please help

Hi there i just bought the sct livewire programer and in the settings there is a egr on or off. I dont have the egr delete but if i turn it off what will it do the same thing as putting the new tube in. Also one last question the probe for your egr it says to run it at the back off the manifold but people are telling me to do it infront off the turbo so you know what heat is going into the turbo. I was told to use a thick grease on the drill bit, a magnet and have a vacum there at the same time. Where do you guys recommened put it. any help would be awsome.

In the manifold is technically infront of the turbo, cause the Y pipe takes gases directly into the turbo.
I could be wrong but I would prefer to know my EGTs as close to the head/exhaust valve as possible cause that's what will melt in the mill if she gets too toasty.

Setting the tune to have the EGR off is a good step, but not the same as a full delete. Also, the probe should go just past the #8 cylinder. I personally would like the assurance that metal shavings aren't present by pulling the manifold from the truck, but you can acomplish the same thing with grease, a magnet, and a vacuum.

When you turn it off, the valve will stay closed and prevents hot exhaust gasses from entering the intake. Hence the name Exhaust Gas Recirculator (EGR). The cooler the air going into the motor, the more efficient the motor will run.

does the tunes that come with the sct livewire make that much of a change compared to innavated diesel tunes. I was looking at the package deal they have three tunes for 160. but the live wire already comes with pre loaded tunes. Im on performance now and i notice a diffrence but do you thing its really worth the money to get the tunes from innivated diesel and will i notice a huge diffrence or just a little.????? please give me your advise
