EGT probe question
Hello
I'm fairly new in powerstroke performance. I'm looking into buying a edge cs for 6.0L and the guy that would put it in says he puts the probe in the downpipe. I think it goes in the manifold tell me where it should really be. Thank you |

You want it in the drivers side manifold, NOT in the DP. You want to read pre turbo, not post

2 things you need to do. Smack the guy that wants to put it in the downpipe
![]() then put it in the drivers side manifold |

I am going to get the insight and I want to install the probe myself. I think all I need is a drill and tap. Do I need to take the manifold completely off or can I do it on the truck? Any tips for keeping the shavings from getting into the manifold and thus the turbo if I can leave it on the truck? Does anyone have any under truck pictures of where the best place to tap it in is?
I don't think this should be too dificult, what do you think? |

no one ever takes it off when they put it in...and no dont grease it...just put a vacuum hose up to it after u drill...that way they all get sucked out and arent sticky from the grease and staying in the manifold
This is where you want it at...if you lay down on the drivers side of the truck u can look up and see where it goes in the manifold 3-Gauge Install Pictures |

Thanks a lot guys. Does anyone know of sombody the has a kit or has fab'd their own mounting bracket the would allow you to install an insight or something else in the flip down sunglass compartment on the dash where your right knee would be.
I thought that if possible this would be the ideal location. Where I live if you leave an ipod or gps or anything like that on your dash you are asking for a broken window and missing CTS. Figured if I could flip closed it would be out of sight out of mind. |
