No you cant do that
![]() The tunes are written to the serial number on the tuner. They wont work on another tuner. |

so is every tune like that, only for that one individual truck??? So can I say that every single tune that eric put out is different, there is not one that is the same as the other?????
|
|
|||
|
That honestly depends. Eric has base files that he adds parameters too.
For example if you have two trucks sitting next to each other with the exact same mods and everything else is the exact same the file should be the same or close to it. Unless one guy asked for some major changes of course Now if you throw a different part in the engine trans or rearend of the truck the file will be different. The tunes are serial number locked to the device to prevent scenerios like the OP was describing |

I understand the parts but I was thinking of the VXCF4 to a VXCF4. that kind of thing

Well the tune would work great on the truck, but the problem would be getting the tune loaded on the SCT. It won't let you load a file unless it's serial numbers match.

WHat about the free tunes Spartan had a while back? I ran quite a few of those.

Those still work. That was before they started locking tunes to serial numbers

Yep those were the old .ll3 files, before SCT pushed out a new software update which required the tuners to enter in the serial number when creating a custom file. All the files now end in .cef.
