Transmission Rebuild

Probably gonna end up rebuilding my transmission soon, hopefully not, but we will see.

So what's the most cost efficient way to go? I don't plan on pushing anymore than 550 HP (at the most) and I may spray eventually.

Would a Suncoast Rebuild it with a stock converter do fine? And how much do the stock converters run?

Also, who should I get to rebuild my trans? And how much should I expect to pay? I can't afford an NADP, and I really don't need that much of a heavy duty trans.

Thanks

if you want the cheapest route your looking at a used unit. maybe a local shop but be weary if they dont specialize in the 5r tranny. they are particular. then next cheapest way would be a ford reman. this is largely because of the warranty. suncoast has a hit or miss reputation in the 6.0 and 6.4 circles. bts probably make a great unit but for the price they have to... nadp seems to have a few of the highest hp trucks and they are holding up well. you could also send it to doug @ gogo and see what he can do with it

Is Doug on the Org, or just the Nation? It would be nice if he would chime in.

Depends on the mechanic, my partner hates working on 5R trans he doesnt touch them but he knows how to work on them. Id double check if he knows what he's doing.
