What is the best programmer/tuner for your transmission???????

First timer on this form and first time diesel owner. '06 ps 6.0....I'm sure this thread has been coved before, but I thought I would ask anyway. I'm looking for a programmer/tuner that will monitor or go easy on my transmission and give me respectable hp and gas mileage. Not looking to be the fastest on the road just smoke a few rice burners here and there. Thanks in advance!!!!!!

from what ive seen and heard, the banks six gun is great. you have a low risk of engine (and im assuming tranny too) problems because of safegaurds built right into the tuner....plus its also adjustable on the fly which is a big bonus. im sure some of the other guys will have ideas as to what else is a good way to go....just hang on and the experts will be on to answer everything

It all depends on what you're looking for pretty much. A lot of places will do exactly what you want, TS performance, etc..

Welcome to Powerstroke.org!
This is a question that will get MANY different answers and opinions. I currently run a Predator and have loved it with ZERO problems in 25,000 miles. I'm now looking at moving to one I can adjust on the fly and have spent HOURS reading the past couple of days about them. At first I was going to go with the 6-gun but now I'm leaning toward the Bully Dog Triple Dog with Outlook monitor. Everyone who I read about and actually had one loved it. Plus it'll cost me a bunch less than the 6-gun with the PDA option. SCT gets rave reviews but I want something inside the cab that I can change as needed and has some bit of safety precautions built in. Well that's MY opinion - once again WELCOME!!!

Yeah that's a huge selling point when chips are adjustable on the fly....the handheld programmers won't go away but i'm sure they loose sales by not being so flexible...
