doing egr delete ? about oil cooler nipple

I have the egr cooler out and ready to install delete but noticed a piece on the oil cooler nipple that was under the original hose and rotates around. it looks to have 2 tabs that hold it on and looks like it needs to come off before installing the new hose piece that comes with the delete. would i be correct in that it needs to come off. it is a rcd delete.

I also installed the RCD delete kit but, do not recall this nipple you are talking about. Do you have a picture of it?

i left in on and got my ex back together yesterday and had no leaks so i guess i am good to go.
