05 powerstroke with edge juice
Just joined the forum, looks very informative. I have a 05 powerstroke that has 88,000 miles on it. It is stock except for a K+N intake that I put on 2 yrs ago. This past weekend I put the Edge Juice with Attitude in it. The 4 inch MBRP turbo back is in the mail!! I drove the truck in stock set up for a few minutes, stopped and moved it to stage 3 and drove for maybe 2 miles and it was awesome, no problems. Stopped and moved it to stage 5 and got on it about 3/4 throttle and boy did it move and smoke. About 3-4 seconds latter my tranny had enough and was slamming in and out of gear. turned around and tried again, same result, had to pull over, tow haul light flashing. Long story short I guess my tranny went into "limp" mode. Got home, disconnected batts. hoping to reset computer and set juice on stock, drove fine.I have had it on level 1 now for 50 miles and shifts fine. I guess I need to know are levels 1-3 some what safe if I keep my right foot under control? I would love to use levels 4-5. On 5 the egts were in the mid 13's within seconds, but that was with stock exhaust. I am worried about the heads(studs)/cylinder pressure, etc.Does the trucks computer need a few hundred put on it for the edge juice to properly sinc. before I can really get on it? Since i joined this forum I have heard great things about SCT X3 and maybe custom tunes by Eric at innovative. Talk to me, I am wide open to ideas and info, any help would be great, thanks

I hate to say it, but you put your money in the wrong product. Sell it and get a SCT w/ custom tunes from Innovative.
My buddy has a Edge Juice on his 07 and has the same issues. It's all in the tuning. |

The sct is way better!! You can do way more tranny tuneing also. And the custom tunes will make youre truck faster than the edge. But the sct isnt shift on the fly.Iam in the same boat, Iam just tryn to fig out who to get my tunes from.Eric does have good ones but iam just looking to find good ones but at a good deal.(Read the owners man, it should tell you how to re-learn youre tranny to the new found power.

Did you check the shift defueling percentage? The percentage might be set to low which will cause it to slam into gears.

I did not chech the shift defueling, I could be wrong but I dont think my edge juice has that option, I think the platinum has it. I have EGR defueling percentage. I am new at this so fire away.

Im pretty sure mine is a regular juice manufactured in 2006. Under juice configuration it has a transmission settings. Under that menu is the shift defueling. Mine might be a platinum, but i always thought it was a regular juice. Anyone else got any info on this?

I had the edge juice on my 6.0 and was told NOT to hit it too hard the first 50 miles or so. I only put it on stage 5 when I when i saw another diesel and the egt's went up real quick but that is also how it is with my sct w/ custom tunes. Think that is pretty normal unless you got new turbos and such.
