PPE programmer
I have a friend of mine that has a PPE that I want to try but was wondering if I was to program my truck with it does the PPE save my stock file and when I go back stock it puts the same file back on it. I am getting good mileage now just want to see if I can get a bitmore but I don't want to lose my stock file. His truck stock gets about 12.5 and mine gets about 16.5 so I don't want accidently install his stock tune.
I am a newbie to this so take it easy on me if this is a stupid question. Was also wondering what would be safe HP to add. This truck has never had Hg problems so hopefully I have one of the few good ones stock. Truck has 176k on it now. I'm also wondering what the best place to look for a used SCT and get a custom tow tune and run it as DD. I'm really looking for the TC to lock up sooner in 5th or even stay locked. Is there any problems with this? I know it'll probably run hotter but I have an insight to watch the tranny temps |

You should be fine installin ghis tuner but remember once you have the extra power you won't want to give it up. it gets really addicting. Also remember stock trucks blow HGs so any extra CP caused by the tuner could be just enough to blow your HGs.
Watch the classified sections on any of the forums and you could get lucky and stumble accross a good deal. I sold my X2 for 100 with tunes on it a couple years ago. |
