Arrow What the scoop with unplugging the vgt?

Ok so I was watching on YouTube videos of 6.0 powerstroke and I found a couple videos of trucks with the vgt unplugged what's that supposed to do and is it even good for it there trucks looked sluggish and they smoked a hell of a lot ???? What's it do ??? Is it good for the trubo??? Why do people do it ???

Its not great for the truck and is ridiculously power sapping, but it makes it smoke. Thats all it does.

Those are the people that give diesel a bad rap. Smoking isnt really that cool. I like seeing a truck crank 700 ponies on a dyno with minimal smoke. Then you know they did the research to make a good DD and a clean one.

seems like ever since unplugged mine one time with my old sct the turbo started sticking.. I need to take the time to pull it apart
