factory muffler replacement.....

Hi all,

I'm in the process of opening up my exhaust to reduce my EGT's, but I want to retain the same sound level of the stock exhaust.(don't want to delete the muffler, it's loud enough now) I currently have the stock cat gutted and want to replace the factory muffler with a flow thru design.


Question is if I replace the factory muffler 3.5 in/out(24" body lenght) with a 4" in/out(24" body lenght) flow-thru muffler will I be susceptible to exhaust drone and have around the same loudness as stock?


Please note:
I don't have the $$$ to swap to a full exhaust yet, just trying to get by with the factory system for now.
