SCT Touchscreen programmer

Has anyone personally used one yet?

I'm getting my truck back from Liberator tomorrow after getting studs and egr cooler delete and would like to scrap the banks setup for an SCT tuner. I like the idea of the gauges in the programmer so I don't have to run a-pillar gauges.

Anyone use one can give me pros and cons?

2004 Ford F-350 XLT Dually: crew cab, 8' box, Sinister Mfg. EGR delete, NUC/Amsoil by-pass oil filter, DC Power 185 w/ FICM Repair's full wiring kit, Diamond Eye exhaust, SCT/Gearheads tuning, Edge Insight CTS w/ EAS EGT & FP, Tekonsha Prodigy P3, Line-X and B&W turnover gooseneck.

I've been researching the same thing. At first I liked the idea of the the gauges and the tuner in the same device. But after comparing the Edge CS/CTS and the SCT I think I am going with the CTS and the X3 for the tuner. The screens on the CS/CTS just look nicer.

Since the CTS plugs into the OBD port and reads all the factory sensors, how do you get an aftermarket Pyrometer to hook up to it?

SCT Livewire. I just put one in my excursion yesterday. It will give all information except egt. They do offer an egt sensor kit as well. the livewire runs 509-569 and the egt probe kit from 75-200. This is what i found before settling on one from DFuser Diesel. They were selling for 569 with the egt sensor kit a free mount and three free tunes. There are many other companies out there who sell SCT products. I just did the research and bought what was the best deal. Ive been running a livewire in my mustang for three years and no compliants. The EGT Kit will connect to the touch screen extreme. I just didnt want to pay 850 and then for the egt kit. The livewire and tsx do have the same power output 150hp/220lbft Btw the Ex runs like a raped ape!!!

After looking into this a bit more, it seems like if you don't already have a SCT tuner and you want the digital gauges, you're better off just getting the touch screen. Otherwise you're putting out almost 800 for a tuner and the Insight CTS. The SCT Touchscreen has a larger screen than both the CS and CTS and if you want to change tunes you always have it in the truck. You will end up spending a couple hundred more in the long run but you will have a larger screen as well as data logging capabilities and the other options the SCT has over the CS/CTS.

All I can say is... "HOLY $HIT!!!!" I just loaded a "canned" tune and took the truck out.. AMAZING! A world of difference from the Bank's 6-gun with speed loader I had.

After a few problems and half hour on the phone with SCT's tech line, this thing is a beast! The unit still will not power off (problem from the beginning with tech) but the power and smooth shifting is great.. Definitely recommend this product if you're looking for a tuner.
