im wonderin what options there are for an inexpensive programmer that isnt radical, and could tune out the egr. dont wanna buy headstuds, dont wanna build an auto, just want a low power, low dollar programmer that is capable of tuning out the egr after a delete (if there is such a programmer). i know no1 wants to read thread after thread like this and im sorry

yea i kinda figured id get that answer. thats what ive been seein. . .so the sct is the tuner itself and i download "Custom tunes" or i create the tunes myself? and i can make a mild tune that wont destroy trans/blow heads off the 6.0? thanks for the input fellas.

ok so i see the economizer, livewire, and the sf3. . .the economizer sounds like what im lookin for and of course its the cheapest of the 3. . .will it do what i want?

You will need to contact a person who writes custom tuning, tell them what you are looking for from the program, and they will write the tune and e-mail it to you, then you load it on the programmer and then onto the veh. and i can make a mild tune that wont destroy trans/blow heads off the 6.0? YES, the tuners can do almost anything with custom tuning (disclaimer - some trucks will blow head gaskets and/or EGR cooler stock, so of course it's possible running a tune too, it's a risk you take) thanks for the input fellas.

I would suggest either the SF3 or X3. The SF3 comes with pre-loaded "generic" tunes, and will store/load custom tunes, the X3 is for custom tunes only. I don't think the economizer will hold custom tunes, so your stuck with whatever comes with it
