doing an egr system delete. need opinions on which brand to go with.
as the title says im looking to do a egr system delete, so far ive narrowed it down to the sinister delete kit and the river city diesel kit, on ebay you can get the rcd kit for about 100 bucks less, they both look like the same style of kit, i always though river city diesel was a reputable name in the business, so anyways im looking for opinions here im not looking to spend a fortune, and im not going to pull the intake manifold off and get a new one like some of the kits are (i think they are a great kits! but i dont want to spend that kind of money and me personally i dont think its neccessary, now thats just me dont jump all over me for saying that please.) im also looking for a kit with quality materials, ease of installation and good design. thanks guys

Why not the kit from FCDP or Direct Injection Performance?
Are you looking at a kit to block the EGR or delete it? |

Go for the RCD kit, I have it on mine and no problems.

I'm looking to delete the system, I don't want the fcdp kit due to the price and I haven't heard of the direct injection one. I'm thinking the RCD kit is a good choice personally.

I believe the sinister is a knock off of the RCD or so i've read, so whatever one you find at a cheaper cost. I know you said you dont want to replace the intake manifold but alot of people run the FCDP, i personally got the gogo diesel delete/direct injection performance. the stage 1 is alot of dough but they also make just a delete at a somewhat reasonable price

Man check out the one from liberator diesel, it is a great system with a lifetime warranty. they use a solid stainless up pipe. it is about 500.00 bucks, but is a really great product. I believe they are a sponsor on the site and have a link in the dealer links.

Not trying to take anything away from an kit on the market.. However I dont see why everyone is buying these kits.. Its not very hard to delete your own egr cooler for next to nothing. to be easy I would either make a plug or buy a plug to put in your uppipe and put a clamp on it. Weld a plug in the manifold and get some plumbing fittings to reroute the coolant... Hell you could even just clamp the blocker plate on the uppipe..

That thing is WAY overpriced IMO. And it doesn't come with a EGR valve blocker plate.
