you cant go wrong with a custom tuned SCT with innovative tunes like this: SCT X3 Custom Innovative Diesel Tunning

but i would add some gauges before you do anykind of tuner...

keep the stock intake since it will flow more than enough air and do a 4" TB exhaust kit

If I were before you doing anything else, get yourself a Coolant Filtration System, CCV reroute as well.

As for the 03 stuff, just look for an 03 Turbo, I wouldnt try piecing together a turbo like that your asking for trouble if you dont know what your doing.

Performance, Id do your fuel system first before anything, then injectors and turbo if you have the money, if you wanna play you have to pay and its not cheap so plan correctly and smart or your gonna hate life later.

Don't forget to take care of that oil cooler while you're in their doing the EGR delete and studs! I never hear that brought up, but its a leading cause of blown HG's

As for the SCT being the best/only way to go, YES! The CTS is badazz too

ARP Headstuds, Full EGR delete, new headgaskets, oil cooler rebuild, check the heads for cracking, visually inspect the cylinder walls for cracking. Once this is done, add a coolant filtration system, oil bypass, CCV reroute, turbo back exhaust, some type of gauges ( I prefer Insight CS/CTS) and then get a SCT tuner.

That would be the BEST mods for a 6.0
