Which Programmer?
I'm thinking of buying a programmer for my 2005 6.0, but I'm a bit nervous because it's my daily driver. I drive 100 miles roundtrip each day to work. During the summer months I'll pull a 28ft enclosured trailer around on the weekends draging an old camaro to shows. I would like to have a some added red light pep when these rice burning, fart sounding, winged cars pull up beside me. I'd like to have something I can change while sitting at the lights and change back when I want to pull my trailer. I've did the EGR cooler & cat delete, but still has the stock head bolts.
Thanks, Jim |

There are polls and numerous post for this. SCT is your best bet.

no problem. No matter the application SCT is the way to go. Unless you want to fork up the money for a Spartan.

Can you change programs with the X3 on the fly? Is there anything to look out for when buying a used programmer off the internet?

no its not change on the fly. On the fly tuners dont work on a 6.0 period! Make sure it is unlocked. SCTs can only be changed from 5 different vehicles before they are locked.

I found an X3 within 50 miles of here that's only a few months old. The guy bought it new and has only been on his truck. He does have 3 custom tunes for his 2003 6.0L loaded on it. My question is will the SCT preloaded tunes still be on it as well as the 3 custom tunes? I plan on using just the SCT preloaded tunes and didn't know if the custom tunes deleted the preloaded tunes in the programmer.
Thanks for the help, Jim |
