EGR deleted...but truck does not run just right
I got my truck back from the shop today after doing a egr cooler and valve delete also put a new oil cooler in. (truck was blowing white smoke and loosing coolant) Now the truck is slow to start building boost at take off. Also you do not hear as much whistle from the turbo as you did before mainly while Idling. Do I have to have a programer on the truck to tell it that there is no longer an egr valve or is something else wrong? Thanks

If it's not whistling like it did and slow to build boost your up pipes may not be seated correctly. But hell yeah get an SCT custom tune on there. but first put something like an Insight on it to monitor things.

+1 on your turbo pipes not lined up.. Do you hear any exhaust leak?

Do you have the newest ford flash?
It doesnt play well with EGR deletes

Why doesn't it work well with the latest flash?

Here you go
That's very interesting information. I just found out another interesting tidbit if you haven't heard or experienced it. With the latest flash for the 05-07 trucks if you unplug or remove the EGR valve you will lose correct fan operation (it basically does nothing), your A/C will "shutdown", and the turbo veins won't cycle. You can't even command the fan to come on with IDS unless the EGR is plugged in. For anyone you know that is having overheating problems after EGR delete they may very well have to reinstall, plug in, or undelete. Same with the newest 03 and 04 flash. Custom tuning should be able to overcome this issue though |

The last time the computer was updated was a year ago. I am hearing what might be an exhaust leak when it has about 20 pounds of boosts. I will look at it some more.
