Difference between a tow file and a performance file
Why is it not advisable to tow with a performance file?

i would think that your egts would get to high to fast because of the extra fuel but im not to sure

That's true. In addition, the tranny shifting is much sooner on a performance file and most performance files lock the torque converter, which is VERY bad for towing with a heavy load causing the clutches to have to accomodate the slippage. The torque converter is designed to slip, so when towing it is always advisable to use a tow tune.

cylinder compression and timing. with a load you put more stress on the truck and temps go up. tow tunes back off timing and fuel which makes less power and save the components
