Towing RPM Limit
Can I hold 3000 RPM while towing a long grade for 5 minutes? I have guages and my EGT's stay around 1100-1150. I'm used to a Cummins but my 6.0 seems to prefer 2,800-3,100 RPM's while towing. I'm just not sure if it is good for the engine. My Harley guages don't show a Redline?

Thats fine. How fast are you going? How much are you pulling.
Stock red line is 4,000 RPMs. Some other people feel ok allowing their engines to go past 4k with tuners but I do not at all. you dont need to worry about 3k |

but you're fine with 3000 pulling a grade, just keep an eye on the EGT's |

Thanks
Speedo reads a little over 60mph with 35" tires in T/H mode towing around 8K lbs tops. |

I was stock before I put the sct on, and that is when I was in park and put the throttle down and the rpms bounced at 4k

Redline is actually 4,200 RPMs

The gauge shows it will rev that high, but under every circumstance a stock truck will shift at 3500. A tuner will allow it to shift at 4000. I have never seen a stock 6.0L rev above 3500 while driving.
