Edge Insight Reading
What does the insight read when its showing the "Mod Voltage" or "Mod Volts"? Wondering what you all are showing? Mine has been reading 12 to 13 when on the interstate. Is this normal? I thought this might be the FICM Voltage but that should be around 48 volts.

alternator output.

Is 12 or 13 normal then?

It is not normal, but it is what I see. My edge will say 13.5 and then I will test it with a multimeter and it will be 14.2

Do you know if we can get the FICM voltage from the insight?

Won't give you FICM...that would be sweet though. As Goose350 said, it will give you alt output (what the PCM/FICM sees). I don't even turn on headlights and such until I see 13.5v (usually after the 120 sec GPCM is finished using what it needs).

I see "Mod Volts" listed in the manual, but I can't find it in my Insight (early 2004 F250 PSD). What am I missing?

I dont have the mod volts on mine either, you probably just need to update it.

I found it. It's available by using the included software and hooking up the Insight to a computer through the USB cable. Now we'll see if it works.
I did see a note in the manual explaining why it might not show the same voltage as measured at the battery. It states "This is normally battery voltage less any voltage drop in the circuit between the control module and the battery." |
