Edge Juice w/Attitude, built tranny. Be ok?

I have an 05 F250 harley edition. It has an edge juice/w attitude programer. I have read that these programmers are bad on the tranny. How so? My tranny has a shift kit, bigger clutches, boost valve, springs and a some kind of shutter guard. Should I still look into a SCT? I don't need big power, just want reliability.

The juice doesn't control the trans. The SCT ups the line pressures to keep the transmission from slipping. The edge only defuels during shifts to minimize slippage. I ran an Edge Platinum for a few years which had "transmission controls" but it didn't seem to do too well. I was a big proponent of the edge, but I've recently ordered an SCT , so my '04 Harley should be SCT tuned in the next week or so.

I just don't want anything bad to happen. If I need to switch it out for a SCT to ensure reliability, I will. It's alot of money to spend tho if its not that necessary.

$400 for the SCT is very worth it. Custom tuning, more power and more reliability than the edge or any other programmer out there. Plus, with your edge on the stock setting, you can use your attitude monitor for gauges.

I wasn't sure if I would be able to do that. Well I guess I will start looking into the SCT. Thanks Fantom. Any suggestions on which one to get?

There are a number of good tuners out there., Eric at Innovative, Vivian at Quick Tricks (if you've heard of the Loony Tune, that's Vivian), I've also heard good things about Matt's tunes at Gearhead. Just make sure that you tell them that you're running the edge as gauges, because even though it's on the "stock" setting, it's not exactly stock.

Did you just buy your truck, or recently have it for sale?

I just bought it. Actually, I haven't even had the chance to go pick it up. I will be driving down friday to pick her up. I have been wanting a truck for a long time and just now got the chance to get one. I have been doing alot of research on them and now im a little nervous about that edge tuner.

Okay I thought something like that, there was a thread about the truck being for sale on here a few days ago, and the picture looks familiar.

A good SCT tune beats that edge any day. Like I said it's good for gauges. I sold my platinum and I'm going to use an Edge Insight for gauges, it's basically the attitude monitor, but I won't have the other programmer on the truck.
