Gauge wiring on 05 F250 6.0

I ve got my gauges installed, but was wiring them up and the diesel manor instructions say to wire the switch'd ignition to a red/yellow trace so I did. But now they are only working when the lights are on all the way.

Essentially I have the constant wired to the battery, the switched power is to the red/yellow trace, and then the ground.

Anyone with an 05 have their gauges wired to a different switched ignition wire? I tried all the wires next to this one on the same plug and none of them worked right. Its a gray plug with like 6 wires.

Thanks.

A DVM or even a 12v test light is your friend here. There are lots of switched sources you can use. I tie my lights to the dimmer switch so they dim with the dash lights.
