SCT livewire questions

If i buy a used livewire off of someone that is unlocked can I just plug it into my truck and go?

If it is not unlocked how much does it cost to get it unlocked?

If there are custom tunes on it already and i have the same strategy that it is set up for are those tunes safe to run on my truck?

I have nothing done to my truck yet no guages, exhaust, studs or egr delete. Those are all coming after my warranty is up so I know I will be risking my head gaskets and I know that the tuner technically voids my warranty. Im not worried because my dealer is tuner friendly.

you should have no problem getting the livewire and installing it on your truck as long as its not for the 6.4 powerstroke

if its locked, you will have to send it to SCT and it will cost you about $150-160 to have it unlocked.

thanks a lot for the information. and it would be for my 6.0 so no worries about the 6.4 stuff. im hoping i can find one that is unlocked so that i dont have to spend the extra 150 to get it unlocked cant really afford to put out all that cash right now

also what is a fair price on a used livewire that also comes with the windshield mount and a brand new EGT probe.

probably in the 3-400 range..for the minimal savings, I would suggest getting a new one that would come with new custom tunes built for your truck.

just seems like from what i have seen a new livewire is around 500 plus another 150 for the EGT probe and that is a little rich for my wallet right now because i still would have to get custom tunes ontop of that price.
