MPG
Ok Ok, Talk about bringing up a whipped subject, but..............
2005 Excursion with a 6.0.........bone stock. What should I be looking at for MPG? Currently getting (verified at the pump) 13 city and 16.5 hwy. I hear the near 20 marks from some running around, but I am no where nea r. Does this suck?Plans for the future in order: SCT X3 Some sort of Cold air intake EGR delete Big exhaust What do you guys think?

Well here is what I haven't been able to do quite yet...............
Trans flush to synthetic.........plan on next month Diff fluid change to synth.......plan on next month transfer case to synth...........next month SCT X3 ...............................next month next month = pay day But I agree it did seem kinda low compared to a buddy with an 05 Excursion..........stock on stock as well, and getting 1+ MPG hwy. He was 17.8 verified pump and we were following eachother on the same trip at the same time. Maybe he was drafting through turn 3 and 4..................... |

I get 15.6 mixed driving. 18ish on the interstate. Yours seems about right for a stock truck.

When my 04 X was completely stock, I got almost 20 on the hwy @ 70, and 15 around town. I have since done some work, but have not done much hwy to verify any numbers. I should be making a good run later this week and will post what I get.

sct will gain you the most of what you have listed, with responsible right foot. don't forget engine oil, either 10w-30 or 5w-40 syn will net small gains |

what are some of the recommended Xfer case, diff and tranny fluids? Currently I changed to Rotela Synth 5w-40 about 1500miles ago.
The right foot is "usually" responsible, and in town, I absoulely realize that I am trying to get a heavy beast moving at every stop light. Just lookin at hwy best mostly |

6.4 mpg
I drive my 6.4 truck like, "it's a race race" and it gets 15 in town(stop sign to stop sign) and 20 on the highway(at 75 with a/c). I couldn't get that with my old toyota T-100 with a v-6. LOVE THE NEW TRUCk
