Me installing a Mishimoto Rad/IC in the truck

Alright, well I meant to do an install guide on the product, but the batteries died on the camera. Started working on the truck while I waited for my wife to return from work, she was stopping by the store to get me some batteries on the way home.

This is how far I was once she arrived.

Hoses connected:

Fan Shroud on back of new radiator:

Mounting points on radiator:

Transmission lines in!

From there, I installed the intercooler. The process was extremely simple, remove OEM radiator/Intercooler, and install Mishimoto parts. No modifying anything whatsoever.

Charge piping connected:

The intercooler fits perfectly:

Pictures of the final product:

I can’t stress enough how ridiculously easy this process was. Everything seems to run cooler for the most part, I’m not overheating, that’s for sure. Can’t wait to get on the dyno to see some numbers!

What was your purpose in doing this? Was the stock radiator bad?

The stocker wasn't bad yet, but it was going. The littlest, tiniest leak on the bottom was starting to develop.

Looks like a clean install. How long did it take you to do from start to finish? Nice shop, by the way. Is it yours?

Install was easy since everything was drop-in fitment. The hardest part was finding all the bolts etc that needed to come out in order to actually replace the rad/IC! i would guess it took about 3-4 hours... and we were taking our time with everything.

It's actually my buddy's shop. I wish it was mine.

Looks like the photos you took ended up on their website! Way cool! I'm interested to see how well your temps (EGT's and Coolant) drop. Keep us posted.

PS. Do you happen to tow with your truck? I do, so I would consider something like this especially considering the hot summers we have out here in AZ! I'm very interested in your observations.

Hey guys, I have a question or two for you. I have gotten a few PMs about whether or not the Rad/IC set-up will fit a 7.3L. I know that the radiator won't as the 6.0L radiator is about 3-4" taller than the 7.3, but doesn anyone know about the IC's compatibility?

The stock 6.0L intercooler will fit with some modified CAC boots.

My buddy wants to know about putting a Mishimoto intercooler on his 7.3L (2003), I assume it will fit? He isn't interested in my stock 6.0 IC
