While I am under the hood

I am new to the mods and mechanic part of diesel engines, but I am in the process of adding coolant filter system(completed), doing a River City Diesel EGR delete, an oil bypass and a new oil cooler. What would be the difference between doing a new oil cooler and an oil cooler rebuild? Thanks in advance!

what is ment by rebuilding your oil cooler is Ford has an overhaul kit they sell which includes the element and all gaskets( the element is normally what cloggs and becomes restricted) . getting a complete new one you will get the housing and all. the kit is $300 through the dealer, you can normally find them online for cheaper.

Thanks Tech...I appreciate that. I thought that was what the rebuild was, but was unsure. I actually scored a new cooler and gasket kit for $225, so I think I made out pretty well.
