FICM
I hace a 250 with rough starting unless I keep it plugged in. read many posts about a FICM. Can someone tell me what and where it is and what it does

Sounds like a glow plug problem , not the FICM. Check the glow plug relay, glow plugs , as a last resort it might be the FICM
|

FICMFuel Injection control module. I just had the same issues, it wouldn't cold start unless it was plugged in. Dealer changed the FICM under warranty. There is a really good diagnostic PDF on another site. A quick search should find it. Keep in mind replacement FICM's do not contain software and must be programmed prior to use.

It is under the degas bottle (radatior overflow bottle) and a little further back. It is on the driver side valve cover. It is a silver box. Fo a search and you will find a test and fix proceendure
