How do you get rid of the check engine light
How do you get rid of the check engine light when you delete the egr? I don't have an SCT programmer and don't plan on buying one in the near future.

I think thats the only way. Cuasse if you clear it will will probably come right back on.

Correct, you cant turn it off without some sort of custiom program.

Just plug your old egr valve in and the light will go off. You may have to clear the codes but I don't think so. Otherwise you will have to get custom tunes

SCT is the ticket unfortunately.

pretty sure you can plug your old valve in and just let it sit there and think its doin its thing.

If you plug it in I believe it will still throw the check engine light for low pressure..

Have you already done the delete? On an 05 you should be able to do it with no light. So I was just curious if you acutally had a light or you were just preparing to do the job correctly.

on some trucks you can plug the valve back in and it will clear the light, if not SCT is your only option,

I have an 05 and recently just did the delete and did not get a light. I thought for sure I was going to need the SCT to clear it before the install though.
