Rear diff oil additive ?
Hopefully this weekend I will be regearing my truck, I was thinking that I would use Amsoil 75-140 extreme gear full synthetic oil in the rear. My truck has the stock limited slip so do I need to add the friction modifier if I use this synthetic oil? Whats your thoughts?
Thanks, |

I used royal purple duferential oil, and it has the friction modifier within the oil already.

The spec sheet on the web site doesnt say that it does, nor does it say it doesnt. For some reason I am quite sure it does though. Not much help but maybe the bump will get someone for you that does know for certain.

Put the Amsoil in. If it chatters on turning add the friction modifier.

AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR is compatible with most but not all limited slip differentials. If limited slip differential chatter occurs, add AMSOIL Slip-Lock™ friction modifier additive.
I have the Amsoil sever gear in my rig but as an added precaution I did add the modifier. It's only 10 bucks. |
