Whats the difference?

I have a stupid question what is the difference between the 5r110 and the 5110w? I have an 05 f350 and was looking to upgrade the tranny and was wondering how bd trans compares to bts and suncoast? Im not sled pulling or doing any heavy hauling but want something for around 450-600 hp.

5r110w is in the 08-10 trucks with the 6.4 from what I have seen read and heard. It is a similar trans but has been upgraded from what I've heard with the right changes and programing I think it can be mated to the 6.0 and I've also heard they can hold up to 700HP but don't quote me on it. You know how word of mouth gose

Send a message via AIM to Abrannan19
the W is the 08-10 5R trans, there are internal changes and the trans pan is a bit different and its the bellhosuing or torque converter has a different amount of bolts in it so a direct swap isn't possible.

Gottcha. Does anyone have an opinion on upgraded transmissions or why one is better than the other?

Sorry lots of miss informantion. A '08 up trans will bolt right up to a 6.0. All you need to do is just use your flywheel..its that easy. And been done.

The internals are stronger..its about $1000 cost just in the parts alown. When BTS builds a earlyer modle he upgrades these plus all his other mods.
