SCT Xcal2 ???

I just bought a used SCT Xcal2, and tried to unlock it using live load, but it says it has not been returned to stock and cant unlock. Is there a way besides sending it to SCT to unlock it? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Not that I'm aware of. The previous vehicle has to be returned to stock for it to work on another vehicle.

You might want to do some searching on here. I think some of the x2's could be unlocked with the software, at least that is what Dave says. I just got mine back from SCT, an x3. I bought it vin-locked, but I got a good deal on it. It will cost you $150 plus shipping to SCT. Takes about 9-10 days to get it back. Good luck!

The software that I have says you can reformat the device. My guess is that would work. If not pm me and I had a guy unlock mine and it didn't cost what sct charges. I'm a lot more familliar with them now then 2ys ago when I bought mine.

software?

What software are you using, and have you ever tried a re-format? Can any of the custom tune guys unlock these? I want to buy custom tunes for it anyway. Wouldn't mind if the format just leaves a blank device that is waiting for tunes to be loaded.

My software is the cd that came with it. I have never tried to reformat one. I've been looking for a x2 that was locked to experiment with but most have been pretty expensive.

x2

you can experiment with mine... Can you e-mail me the files on the cd? Its worth a shot. I dont want to spend 150 for sct to go through it, kinda expensive. I got an ok deal on the x2, but not good enough to warrant 150 for re-program.
