Shackle Lift????

Has anyone here done a pure shackle lift (without hangers just shackles). I just bought some shackles from superlift and they are supposed to level my truck up. Anyone done this? Will changing the caster affect anything?

To do it correctly you need hangers and shackles.

hmm i've seen 2.5" shackles on ebay for 50 bucks, but do you need longer track bar? What about doing a mini leaf pack and shackles? Anyone done 4-4.5 inches like this?

I am wondering about this as well. I did a 2" Rough Country add-a-leaf, so what do I need to get it up to a 4-4.5" lift?

You must use hangers and shackles or you destroy your castor. You must use some way of recentering your axle as every 2" of lift will shift your axle 1/2-3/4" its Geometry!

i agree with you guys on the caster... but what will that hurt by changing it in my case? with these shackles it would increase my caster (increase in positive caster). With this being said, in my mind the bump steer would decrease, steering effort would increase, and steering wheel recentering would be faster.

the only real negative i could see would be adjusting the pinion angle, which with my truck being stock right now i dont think this would affect the pinion angle enough to cause a problem. now if i were to install a 6" lift and leave the shackles on i could see the pinion angle becoming a problem.

please correct me if i am wrong or add any info if you have any

thanks guys!!!
