cfm+ largemouth, intake won't fit

i just installed a cfm+ largemouth kit on my '05. the kit included the pipe from the intercooler. the install went fine and everything lined up, but my afe stage 1 wouldn't go back in. neither would my stock airbox. i thought maybe the pipe they gave me was bent wrong, so i called cfm and the guy told me i might have an aftermarket battery tray!
i ended up spending a few extra hours and making a custom job, had to ditch the airbox setup. i used the afe cone filter and attached it directly to the stock intake pipe and then supported the front of the filter. came out ok
anyone have a similar problem though?
